Print & Graphics Scholarship Foundation Announces New Name to Reflect Expanded Mission

Pittsburgh, PA – March 25, 2026 —The Print & Graphics Scholarship Foundation (PGSF) has announced it will operate under a new name, The Foundation for Graphic Communication Education, reflecting the organization’s broadened mission and the evolving graphic arts industries it serves.
While the foundation has historically supported students pursuing careers in print and graphics, its scope has expanded to encompass the wider graphic communications ecosystem. Today, the foundation supports students studying fields such as packaging, industrial inkjet, engineering, chemistry, and other emerging disciplines that drive modern graphic communications.
The Foundation delivers support through four focus areas: Students, Educators, Community, and Advocacy. Programs include scholarships, educational grants for classroom equipment, and support for student and educator participation in academic and industry events. The Foundation also invests in entry-level graphic communications programs at technical schools and high schools and supports the educational initiatives of the Graphic Communication Education Association. In addition, the Foundation stewards Introduction to Graphic Communication, a widely used introductory textbook utilized by programs around the world.
“Foundation leaders noted that the rebranding is a reflection of the groups evolving mission and ever expanding support of the industry. We remain committed to our roots in student scholarship support and are excited about our increasing reach and value in support of students, educators, educational associations and all learners of the print and graphics industry. ” Said Jules Van Sant, Chairperson of The Foundation.
As part of the rebrand, the foundation has also introduced a new logo specifically designed to represent its mission and industry reach.
This change marks the latest evolution in the organization’s history. Originally established as the National Trust Scholarship Foundation (NTSF), the organization adopted the Print & Graphics Scholarship Foundation name in 1999 to reflect its focus at that time.
The Foundation for Graphic Communication Education remains committed to supporting students, strengthening educational programs, and advancing innovation within the graphic communications industry.
