Pittsburgh, PA – February 26, 2026 — The Print and Graphics Scholarship Foundation (PGSF), a nonprofit organization dedicated to developing the future workforce of the graphic communications industry through educational scholarships, is pleased to announce Mr. Paul Foster as the recipient of the 2025 John Berthelsen Award.

2025 John Berthelsen Award

The 2025 John Berthelsen Award honors an individual who demonstrates a sustained commitment to advancing education for students pursuing careers in the graphic arts. Now in its fourth year, the award recognizes those who embody the values and dedication exemplified by John Berthelsen throughout his career.

Mike Vares, Director of Development for the Print and Graphics Communications Association, shared, “I have known Paul for more than 10 years, and his dedication to education in our industry is exceptional. His leadership and advocacy for graphic communications programs nationwide, particularly through Print[ED]—have had a lasting impact. The industry’s educational landscape would not be where it is today without his contributions.”

Paul was presented with his award by Dr. Debbie Bohan, Director of Administration for PGSF (right) and Mr. Mike Vares (left) during a luncheon last week.

Nominations for the 2027 John Berthelsen Award are now open. Previous recipients include Mr. John Berthelsen, Mrs. Bernadine Eckert, and Professor Pat Klarecki. For additional information, please contact Jeff White, Director of Development for PGSF, at jeff.white@pgsf.org.
