Endowment History – The Donald Rothrock Memorial Scholarship

Established in 2000
The Donald Rothrock Memorial Scholarship was established after Don’s death in October of 2000. This memorial recognizes his long involvement with the printing industry and his deep interest and concern for graphic arts education.
Don Rothrock ’s printing career was spent with 3M Company where he began in sales for the Printing Products Division, Los Angeles in 1959. He served in various sales and Marketing positions within the Printing Products Division. In 1972 he became Marketing Director of the Printing Products Division, a position he held until his retirement in 1988. His dedication to printing education was exemplified in positions he held on the Advisory Board of the Graphic Communications Department of the California Polytechnic State University, and the Advisory Board for Rochester Institute of Technology, for fourteen years.
Mr. Rothrock’s industry honors include the Byron G. Culver Award (RIT), member of Society of Fellows, member of Soderstrom Society, and the Industry Honor Award from the Don Bosco Trade Technical Institute, Los Angeles. Don genuinely loved the printing industry, and this scholarship will continue to honor his commitment while assisting qualified students preparing to enter the field.
